Welcome to Christy’s Corner. I live in Pennsylvania with my husband and two children, Colby and Denali. We also have two cats, Taio and Jake. They’re very good at supervising our household and finding the best sunny spots.
I’m a hardware engineer, which you can read more about on the resume page. I love engineering, especially board design. I’ve done quite a bit of technical project management and team leadership as part of my engineering role. I understand the process of taking products from introduction to full production. I enjoy getting into the lab to figure out some tricky problem, and I’m also a capable writer.
My favorite sport is racquetball, although I haven’t had a chance to rejoin a league since we moved back to Pennsylvania in the fall. I’m pretty busy managing remodeling projects and doing interior painting, in my spare time!
Our family likes to go camping during the nicer months. When we lived in North Carolina, we camped at nearby Jordan Lake. It was a great place to relax and take a break from work. Now we’re looking for new places to camp.
We’re always looking for interesting things to do around the local area, like car shows, art festivals, and flea markets. Once or twice a year for vacation we try to go somewhere a little further afield — I usually post pictures on Oreganet.
I also enjoy writing, although I haven’t done as much fiction and fun writing in the last several years as work and family tend to devour most of my time and energy. Check out the links on the left for some of my writings. Someday I hope to get back to doing more writing, but for now, I mostly just dabble and write the occasional short piece.
